“We can use the real house or the setting for whatever works best,” reveals production designer Naaman marshall in his exclusive interview with Gold Derby about “Servant” on Apple TV + (watch the video above). He continues, “The front of the house is a real house in Philadelphia, the back of the house is a real house in Philadelphia – two different places and then what I did was build the inside and the exterior of these two houses on stage. “The psychological thriller takes place almost entirely inside a brown stone townhouse in Philadelphia and the Marshall set differs from most others in that it has assistive devices thanks to an electrical installation. complete, as well as interior plumbing.

Marshall explains, “It was a huge challenge early on to build the house. We built it in nine weeks (four floors). He breaks down a bit of movie magic: “When they look out the window, there are two ways to do it. Sometimes we are on our set on stage and because I built this street with the houses on the other side, we can park the cars; we can drive cars on our board. Sometimes we’ll get there or if we shoot through the front door we can get it and if we go any further and have to look down the street we go right there.
A former Emmy nominee for “Westworld” pilot, Marshall takes on “Servant” in the Best Half-Hour Production Design category this summer for the fourth episode of the second season. The payment entitled “2:00” was made by M. Night Shyamalan. Marshall justifies his submission: “The look of the show is so consistent to me, but I happen to love the episode Night directed. This is what enhances the house the most and it is what has the most character. It also highlights the entire attic, which was not featured in the first season and which Marshall identifies as “the greatest build” for the second.
