Launch of the fourth WCIFIT to seek deeper cooperation through CCI-ILSTC

Elites and experts from all industries discussed how to improve the supporting role of regional industrial chain and supply chain and offered new ideas to deepen international cooperation through the new corridor International Land-Sea Trade (ILSTC) during the forum.

“Interconnectedness is at the heart of supply chain resilience, in which visualization is one of the key aspects,” said Josephine TeoMinister of Communications and Information and Second Minister of the Interior of Singapore.

“PSA and the Chongqing port and logistics bureau have started working together to check the feasibility of the ChinaSingapore (Chongqing) Dedicated international connectivity,” she said. “Once successful, shippers and freight owners can check the status of their goods more efficiently and achieve more flexible supply chain management.

The CCI-ILSTC is not only a corridor for trade but also carries the vision of shared development, said Kho Choun KengPresident of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“China-Singapore cooperation has gone through different stages of development such as industrialization, urbanization and green sustainability,” he said. “Now it is catching up with the development wave of digital economy and information technology.”

Development Index 2021 and ILSTC International Trade One Stop Shop in western china were posted after the forum.

The data shows that the ILSTC Development Index in 2021 was 112.9, where the three first level indicators of scale, quality and competitiveness recorded growth. The overall operation of ILSTC has reached a new level, highlighting its positive driving effect on the development of regions along the route.

During the fourth WCIFIT, Chongqing and Sichuan has signed 71 major projects with a contractual investment of 227.03 billion yuan (on US$33.53 billion), focusing on new energy vehicles, electronic information, biomedicine and modern finance. A total of 1,212 enterprises from 26 countries and regions participated in the exhibition.

Fortune 500 companies are bringing brand new products and technologies to the event. eBay, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Ailesco and other cross-border e-commerce players are also showcasing their latest results and products at the show.
