Company news: Valu Home Centers chain announces 3 flagship promotions and a new management team

Valu Home Centers, a family-owned home improvement chain in central and western New York City, has announced the promotion of three executives to form a new leadership team:

  • Marty noworyta is the new executive vice-president of administration. CPA, he has worked at Valu for 31 years in several accounting and IT functions. In his new role, he will oversee the store’s support team, including accounting, accounts payable, human resources and education.
  • Dan Diemert is the new executive vice president of merchandising. He joined Valu in 1992 in store management and has spent the last 25 in managerial positions in the purchasing department. He will lead the purchasing team at Valu, as well as marketing and e-commerce.
  • Scott ortman is the new executive vice president of store operations. He has been with Valu for 27 years in a number of store operations management roles. He will lead the management of the store and the associates throughout the company

The goal of the new team is to improve organizational communication, increase operational efficiency and drive innovation and growth for the business, the company said in a press release.

“We are delighted to recognize and empower these three long-term Valu leaders, and I am confident that each will use their years of passionate leadership and industry knowledge to help grow our brand and our business as a whole,” said said Michael Ervolina, Jr., President and CEO of Valu Home Centers.

Valu Home Centers, which operates 35 stores, was founded in 1968 by the Arena, Ervolina and Amico families. Onondaga County stores are located in Syracuse, east of Syracuse and north of Syracuse.
